quickly

Mom just called. Gail has just left and gone. It went quite well, all things considering. No fights, tears, or police. Gail even apologised, although I'm not sure about what as mom wasn't very clear. Mom will be leaving in a little bit, she's going to talk with family members and get herself packed up first. But if she leaves by 5 she should be home at eight as planned.

Caregiver did leave (under duress and with great protestations but with a packed car) for her son's house (2 hrs away) Tuesday night.

This afternoon, she and her son returned (with car and truck) to collect the rest of her stuff. We set up a bucket brigade to pass boxes and bundles out to the "grass" or "truck." Amazingly, it all fit--though the truck was quite reminiscent of the Beverly Hillbillies, LOL. The son seems to be a very nice, laid-back sort of fellow who was very patient with her. (Whew!)

Praise God, this was a peaceful parting without the high levels of emotion we've experienced the past days. She apologized for some of the things she'd said and she and Grammie hugged goodbye. I pray that she will find the healing she needs.

Beth is settled in nicely and we even got two of the dressers the caretaker had requested hoisted back up into the attic to give Beth a bit more space...AND Beth has internet! Dial-up, yes, but at least we haven't lost her to the pre-cyber world.

Good to know! I was worried about her being without internet!
